How I make money, and where that could bias me

Some of the tools I recommend pay me a referral fee. You should know that, and you should know it before you take a recommendation seriously rather than after.

What it means

If you sign up to certain tools through a link I give you, I get a commission from that provider. It costs you nothing extra, and in some cases you get better terms than going direct. But it means I've got a financial interest in you choosing that tool, and pretending otherwise would be dishonest.

What it doesn't change

Tool selection follows the process map. We work out what your process actually needs first, then look at what meets it. If the right tool for your business pays me nothing, that's the one you get recommended. If the right answer is that you don't need a new tool at all, that's what you'll hear.

When you'll be told

Every time, at the point of recommendation, not buried in a footer. The link and the disclosure travel together.

If it bothers you

Ask. On any tool I recommend, you can ask what the commercial arrangement is before you commit to anything, and you'll be told plainly. You're also free to sign up directly without my link, and it changes nothing about the work.
